 ✔ Discobolus is a legendary Greek sculpture created by the master Myron in the middle of the 5th century BC. Its original was made of pure bronze and depicted an athlete swinging before throwing a disc during competition. An important feature of the monument is considered to be a very accurate, almost perfect depiction of human anatomy. Discus thrower is rightfully called the first sculpture of the era of antiquity, which displays a person in motion (Figura serpentinata composition).

 In subsequent years, many plaster statues of copies of this work were created (mainly from the era of Ancient Rome). Many of them were made of marble and are now in various museums around the world. For example, two of them can be seen in Rome (in the National Museum and the National Thermal Museum), one in the Glyptotek Munich. Also, the Discoball is presented in the collections of the Vatican, Florence, London, Berlin. The monument perfectly conveys sporting dynamics, displaying one of the complex but effective techniques used in ancient competitions.
